James Floyd

James Floyd is an attorney that represents people charged with crimes in Northeast Kansas, including Kansas City, Leavenworth, Johnson County, Lawrence, and Atchison County.

A resident of the Kansas City Metro area, Mr. Floyd graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.  He received his law degree from Washburn University School of Law, where he focused on the areas of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Floyd is licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, and the Wyandotte County Bar Association.

Practice

Mr. Floyd first entered the courtroom as an intern for the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked on criminal cases, motions, and appeals for criminal prosecution.

Mr. Floyd began his career at Kansas Legal Services of Emporia.  There he represented a number of clients in criminal defense family law cases, and protection order cases.

After leaving Kansas Legal Services, Mr. Floyd became an Assistant District Attorney at the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office.  There he prosecuted a number of case ranging from theft to murder.

Mr. Floyd has tried a number of cases to a verdict and has the trial skill and the legal knowledge to help you with your case.
